Butterflies
This video was my first outing with my video-enabled DSLR, the Canon 7d. The video has some odd shakes and wobbles to it, caused by me trying to improve the steadiness of the shots in post-processing. The original footage was quite shaky because I didn’t have enough practice to learn the best technique for shooting video on a DSLR. For the video and photographs I was using a Sigma 50mm, a beast of a lens with a 77mm diameter.
The music used in the video is from the Pixar’s motion picture “Up”. it was composed by Michael Giacchino, who has written for other Pixar films as well as the television show “Lost”. Giacchino writes a lot of intimate piano and string scores that I usually love.
The Butterfly Garden is part of the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Florida. It is a special exhibit that costs a $10 to gain entry to, but it’s worth it to have a chance to take photos of the butterflies.
